How Can I Support My Fourth Grader

Monday:
Before School:
• Make sure Weekly Work Envelope is signed
• Sign reading minutes in planner (100 minutes from the previous week)

Monday – Friday
After school:
• Check planner for homework.
• Make sure your 4th grader reads at least 20 min.
• Remind your 4th grader to record minutes in planner.
• Make sure all homework is complete.
• Sign the planner each night once homework is complete.

Homework
Monday:
• Read at least 20 minutes
• Practice math facts for at least 10 minutes
• Daily Homework
• Spelling words (pink paper), missed words should also be written in planner

Tuesday:
• Read at least 20 minutes
• Practice math facts for at least 10 minutes
• Daily Homework
• Study spelling words

Wednesday:
• Read at least 20 minutes
• Practice math facts for at least 10 minutes
• Daily Homework
• Study spelling words

Thursday:
• Read at least 20 minutes
• Practice math facts for at least 10 minutes
• Daily Homework
• Study spelling words

Friday
After school:
• Look though Weekly Work Envelope
• Check for low scores and missing work (if any). Low and missing scores can be made up, but must be turned in the following Monday for credit.
• Make sure your 4th grader has everything to do homework and make up missing work. Please send him/her back to school if anything is missing or needed.
• Sign Weekly Work Envelope and send to school Monday (along with any completed work marked missing on the progress note).
• Make sure your 4th grader reads 20 minutes each day
• Remind your 4th grader to record minutes in planner.
• Sign planner
• Make sure all homework is complete.
